New York Outrigger is Manhattan Island's first outrigger canoe club. We are a volunteer-driven, non-profit educational organization committed to providing the safe environment, instruction, equipment, and camaraderie needed to enjoy the sport of outrigger canoeing.

The 2007 Liberty World Outrigger Competition will feature hundreds of local, national and international paddlers who represent the best of the Aloha spirit. Whether you are visiting from around the corner or from around the world, everyone is welcome to join in on the festivities and the best New York has to offer.

Friday, June 29. - Canoe Arrival

Brooklyn Bridge Park - 1 Main Street, Brooklyn

10:00AM to 6:00PM

Unloading Canoes at Race Site
The Liberty 2007 Welcome Table at Brooklyn Bridge Park will receive visiting teams with canoes and trailers. All teams trailering canoes should contact Ed Acker at 973.632.7764 when they have arrived at the race site. Please go to Liberty Race Location for driving directions to the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Upon unloading of the canoes and trailers, all visiting teams should proceed to the Exchange Hotel for team registration. Please locate a New York Outrigger representative at the park for general information and directions to the Exchange Hotel.



Friday, June 29. - Registration

The Exchange Hotel - 129 Front Street, Downtown Manhattan

12:00PM to 8:00PM

Team and Paddler Registration
The Registration Table will receive all visiting teams and paddlers at the Board Room of the Exchange Hotel. All registered paddlers will be given their t-shirt and meal ticket for the Liberty Luau. Paddlers and their guests may purchase additional t-shirts, meal tickets and raffle tickets for the Liberty Luau as well as wristbands for the Liberty After-Luau Party at this time.

All paddlers must register at the Registration Table.

7:00PM to 8:00PM

Captain’s Meeting
All team captains must attend the Captain’s meeting at The Exchange Hotel to review the rules and regulations of the race. Due to limited space, we ask that only team captains/steerspersons attend.

Wristbands for the After-Luau Party open bar event may be purchased during Registration at the Exchange Hotel on Friday or at this time at the door.



Sunday, July 1. - Going Home

Brooklyn Bridge Park - 1 Main Street, Brooklyn

10:00AM to 12:00PM

Picking up Canoes at Race Site
New York Outrigger representatives will be at the Welcome Table at the race site to assist crews trailering their canoes back home. Canoes and trailers must be cleared from Brooklyn Bridge Park and Pier by noon.
